Accurate Imaging for Thyroid Health

What Is a Thyroid Ultrasound?

A thyroid ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of the thyroid gland, which is located in the neck. It helps detect conditions such as nodules, cysts, enlargements, or inflammation. This diagnostic tool is commonly used to identify thyroid diseases like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, or thyroid cancer.

Why Choose a Thyroid Ultrasound?

  • Accurate Diagnosis: Identify thyroid conditions, such as nodules, goiters, or thyroid cancer.
  • Detecting Abnormalities: If you're experiencing symptoms like neck swelling, difficulty swallowing, or unexplained weight changes, a thyroid ultrasound can provide answers.
  • Non-invasive & Safe: No radiation is involved, making this procedure safe for all patients, including pregnant women.

What to Expect During the Procedure

The thyroid ultrasound is quick, painless, and non-invasive. During the procedure, a gel is applied to the neck, and the transducer (a small handheld device) is gently moved over the skin. The ultrasound images are captured and displayed in real-time on a monitor. The procedure typically takes about 20–30 minutes, and a radiologist-reviewed report will be provided on the same day.
